A walk through a slice of Sydney’s history ━ North Head Quarantine Station & Reserve
On 1 May, Australia-Japan Society (AJS-NSW) conducted a walk for members and friends around Manly’s picturesque Quarantine Station. Blessed with fine weather, the group marvelled at the views across Sydney Harbour, discussed the history of the quarantine station, and stopped for refreshments and a kinen shashin at the Q Station Wharf. The wharf area is known for the rock engravings done by sailors who spent time in quarantine. There are also some engravings by Japanese sailors.
