Building on our experience successfully operating online platforms for Korean- and English-speaking audiences, we are expanding into Australia’s Japanese-speaking market.

We’re looking for someone who understands Japanese culture and social media trends and can help develop engaging Reels and carousels that resonate with Japanese-speaking audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Translate content into Japanese and review it for natural, culturally appropriate wording
Suggest content ideas inspired by current Japanese memes and social media trends
Review the design, copy and creative direction of company-produced content
Recommend relevant Japanese-speaking influencers and communities
Help guide the content direction and brand voice of our Japanese-language Instagram account
Plan and create Reels and carousels yourself, if interested
Our internal marketing team handles the core content production. Your role will primarily involve reviewing content and providing feedback to ensure it feels natural and relevant to Japanese-speaking audiences.

If you have ideas for shoots or campaigns you would like to try, we can support planning, filming and paid advertising.

The company covers advertising costs and agreed out-of-pocket content production expenses. Any additional filming or editing projects will have their scope and compensation agreed upon before work begins.

Requirements

Strong, natural Japanese reading and writing skills
A good understanding of Japanese social media culture and trends
Reliable communication, whether working remotely or in person
Legal authorisation to undertake this work in Australia
Desirable Skills and Experience

Studies in Marketing, Design, Media or a related field
Experience managing personal or brand social media accounts
Experience creating Reels, short-form videos or carousels
Familiarity with tools such as Canva, CapCut or Adobe applications
An active interest in Japanese memes and Instagram creator content
How We Work

Flexible collaboration with no fixed start or finish times
Routine content reviews and feedback are expected to take approximately 10–20 minutes per day
Any additional content production workload and deadlines will be agreed upon in advance
Work remotely or use our Brisbane CBD office
Compensation and Contract Arrangement

Agreed commission on sales attributed to the Japanese-language account’s dedicated promotional code
Engagement as an independent contractor using an ABN
Company-funded advertising and agreed out-of-pocket content production expenses
Separate filming and editing assignments will have their scope and compensation agreed upon before work begins
