Localisation Specialist – Japanese speaking
The role:
Produce high-quality, culturally adapted translations from English to Japanese, ensuring consistency with the company’s brand voice across financial, marketing, and client-facing content. The role supports the company’s global communications strategy by localising materials for Japanese-speaking audiences.
You’ll localise a wide range of content — from websites and campaigns to client communications — to drive sales, leads, and brand awareness for a global financial company.
The main responsibilities include:
· Translate, localise, and creatively adapt content for the Company’s multiple websites, mobile apps, landing pages, client communications, social media, paid ads, financial articles, and marketing materials
· Ensure cultural relevance and linguistic accuracy across all Japanese content
· Directly collaborate with the Content Marketing Localisation team on daily assignments received, as well as with the regional Japanese designated proofreader to ensure the quality delivered
· Meet daily deadlines and manage multiple translation, localisation, and proofreading assignments simultaneously
· Conduct terminology management and maintain translation quality standards
· Conduct regular research on financial terminology, cultural nuances, and market trends to ensure local relevance
· Conduct regular tentative checks on our websites, landing pages, and members areas and report any inconsistencies
Main requirements:
· Degree in translation, linguistics, communication, or finance preferred
· 3+ years’ experience in translation, localisation, or transcreation
· Fluent-level Japanese and professional English
· Expertise in financial content, especially online trading and investing
· Familiar with Japanese financial regulations and user behaviour
· Strong UX/UI localisation and microcopy optimisation skills
· Knowledge of SEO, Japanese search trends, and digital marketing
· Proficient in CAT tools and TMS; comfortable with tags and QA processes
· Excellent writing, editing, and attention to detail
· Consistent brand voice using style guides and glossaries
· Strong collaboration, time management, and adaptability
· Portfolio of impactful Japanese localisation work is a plus
