SHINKA Group is looking for Full time, Part-time, Casual & Junior Apprentices.

We welcome anyone interested to apply to join our growing team, including apprentices with little experience. We offer an in-house curriculum which will help expand your knowledge and skills on the job.

As a large percentage of our clients are of Asian background, having knowledge/experience working with Asian hair is a big plus!

Senior stylist:
-$56,000-$70,000
-min. 2 years’ experience required
-Hold a visa with unlimited work rights for at least another 6 months
-Visa sponsorship available

Assistant hairdresser:
-$23-$28/hr
-min. 1 year experience required
–Hold a visa with unlimited work rights for at least another 6 months

Apprentice (assistant) part-time:
-Weekdays $20/hr Saturdays $25/hr if no prior experience
-Weekdays $25/hr Saturdays $30/hr if 1 year experience
-If you have some experience (<1 year) we can discuss wage
-Be planning or considering going to TAFE
-Working holiday and student visa holders are welcome- if you already hold a hairdressing license from another country and do not wish to attend TAFE, we are happy to discuss

Operating hours:
MON-FRI: 11:00～20:00
WEEKENDS: 10:30～17:00

Main tasks:
-Shampooing, cutting, colouring, perming, straight perming, head and scalp treatment application, blow drying and updo styling
-Making suggestions to clients about styling techniques and hair colours that would suit their lifestyle
-Maintaining workstations and sanitising tools and equipment
-Salon cleaning before and after business
-Keeping up with latest hair care products and trends

Skills required:
-Good overall technical skills and knowledge in hairdressing
-Experienced in straightening perm techniques
-Extensive knowledge of chemicals for hair colouring and perming
-Creativity
-Teamwork
-Good communication skills in English
-Openness to learning new ideas and techniques
-Knowledge/experience working with Asian hair is a plus
