Superb, top-class facilities

When talking about the facilities available in Tomamu, RISONARE Tomamu is a hotel that has to be mentioned. All 200 rooms are luxury suites that come complete with jet baths offering amazing views and private saunas. Take your pick from the twin rooms (100 square metres) or the larger suite rooms (120 square metres), with some catering for five or more guests in one room. Some of the rooms feature unique themes, such as the “Cloud Suite Room,” which is inspired by the fluffy loftiness of clouds, and the “Skier’s Suite Room,” which gives you the opportunity to really get into the skiing mood on your trip here.

The Chapel on the Water (one of the three churches created by renowned architect, Tadao Ando); Mina-Mina Beach (home to Japan’s largest indoor wave pool), four spa treatment salons (such as the Kirin-no-Yu outdoor bath), close to twenty restaurants cafés, and bars; and a plethora of other facilities make your stay one filled with luxury.

An added plus is that you can ski-in and ski-out of any location, no matter where you’re staying in the hotel.

Take a stroll down hotalu street to truly experience the area

As an independent ski resort, there’s atendency to picture yourself being cooped up and limited to the facilities within the resort. Hotalu street was crafted in 2017 as a 160-metre-long wooden deck that utilises the slope of the mountain to connect close to nine new shops and restaurants for visitors to explore. It features some great restaurants that you can definitely visit at night, but what makes the street so unique is that it’s a small town located within the ski area that you can visit while you’re skiing or snowboarding down the mountain.

Hotalu street is within walking distance of both Tomamu The Tower and RISONARE Tomamu and is just one of the ways you can enjoy your time outside of carving up the mountain. While establishments on the street come and go, it always features places that are popular within Hokkaido and is a cult favourite amongst Japanese foodies. What could possibly be better than having the ultimate resort experience whilst also getting to taste the latest and greatest trending restaurants around?
